Why HTML coding is vital for designing a website?
My PBL
My PBL project is HTML(Hyper Text Markup Language) coding. In this project I will explain how to use HTML coding with samples.
What is coding and how it works
A computer can only understand two distinct types of data: on and off. Coding tells computer what to do.
Here’s a simple example of some code:
<html>
<body>
<p> My Name is Arend </p>
</body>
</html>
That line of code is written in the HTML programming language. Put simply, a programming (or coding) language is a set of syntax rules that define how code should be written and formatted.
There are so many languages because different languages are designed to be used for different purposes – some are useful for web development, others useful for writing desktop software, others useful for solving scientific and numeric problems, and so on.
Thousands of different programming languages make it possible for us to create computer software, apps and websites. Instead of writing binary code, they let us write code that is (relatively) easy for us to write, read and understand. Each language comes with a special program that takes care of translating what we write into binary code.

Webdesign Languages
HTML: Hyper Text Markup Language is used to design a webpage.
CSS: Cascading Style sheets is used for static webpage where the content will be inside the page itself.

HTML
HTML is a language for describing webpages using ordinary text. It's not a complex programming language. Every webpage is actually a HTML file. HTML is the hidden code that helps us communicate with others on the world wide web.
When writing HTML you add tags to the text in order to create the structure. These tags tell the browser how to display the text or graphics in the document. For example, the following document has a simple layout (structure). Notice there are three major parts: a heading, two paragraphs and a list.

Reflection Questions
- What was the nicest thing someone in our class did for you during this project?
- If you could change one thing that happened during this project, what would it be?
- What are the three most important things you learned during this project?
- What is something you taught your teacher or classmates during this project? I taught my classmates that HTML coding is actually very easy once you get the hang of it.
- What advice would you give students who will participate in this project next year? Try to finish early so you can get feedback from your teacher and friends looking at your project.
